The Khazrati Khizr Mosque is one of the oldest Muslim religious buildings in Samarkand. Many legends and stories are associated with the name of Khazrati Khizr. The Shahi-Zinda complex is a series of mausoleums from the 11th to 15th centuries located on the territory of the ancient settlement of Afrasiab. The interiors of the mausoleums are richly decorated with majolica and mosaics. This is the most beautiful and photographed place in Samarkand.
