The Gur-Emir Mausoleum is a family tomb of the Timurids. The construction dates back to the early 15th century. During the tour, you will be delighted by the architecture of the mausoleum, the history of the tomb and the legends and traditions associated with it.
Registan Square is an ensemble of three majestic madrasahs from the 15th and 17th centuries. This architectural complex is the city's "calling card".
The Bibi Khanum Mosque is the largest mosque of the Timurid era in Central Asia. Many legends and tales are associated with its construction. Timur's contemporaries compared the blue domes of the Bibi Khanum Mosque to the vault of heaven, and the portal arch to the Milky Way.
Siab Bazaar is the largest and oldest bazaar in Samarkand. The area of ​​the bazaar exceeds seven hectares. The eastern bazaar in all its glory - noisy, lively, fragrant. It is one of the most visited places by tourists in the city. You can buy gifts, sweets, souvenirs, etc. for yourself and your loved ones.
The Shahi-Zinda complex is a series of mausoleums located on the territory of the ancient settlement of Afrasiab. The core and first burial place in the complex is the mausoleum of Kusam ibn Abbas, a companion and cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v.). This complex is also called a museum of applied art, since here you can clearly observe the development of applied art in the architectural monuments of the Timurid era.
The Ulugbek Observatory is one of the most significant observatories of the Middle Ages, built by Ulugbek on a hill near Samarkand in 1424-1428. Such prominent astronomers as Kazi-zade ar-Rumi, al-Kashi, and al-Kushchi worked at the Ulugbek Observatory. By 1437, the Gurgan Zij was compiled here - a catalogue of the starry sky, which described 1018 stars.
