Sightseeing tour of the "Eternal City"

Here you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a beautiful oriental fairy tale - with turquoise domes, mosaics on the walls of palaces and minarets reaching to the sky.
Historical and Ethnographic Park
"Eternal City" or "Boqiy Shahar"
A real ancient city has been recreated on the territory of 17 hectares, where guests of the Silk Road Samarkand complex will be able to touch the history and traditions of the lands and peoples of Uzbekistan. On the narrow streets there are shops of artists, artisans and masters of applied art. The prototypes of the pavilions in the Eternal City were real houses and picturesque squares described in old books. Here you will plunge into the atmosphere of a beautiful oriental fairy tale - with turquoise domes, mosaics on the walls of palaces and minarets to the sky.
Visitors to the Eternal City can taste national cuisine from different eras and regions of the country and see authentic street performances. The Eternal City offers guests a unique chance to find themselves at the crossroads of Parthian, Hellenistic and Islamic cultures to appreciate the diversity of the heritage of bygone centuries. The author and curator of the project is the famous contemporary artist Bobur Ismoilov.
The Eternal City allows you, without leaving the Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex, to walk along the streets of not only Samarkand, but also Bukhara, Fergana, Tashkent, Khorezm, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya, as well as Karakalpakstan.
Recommendations for visiting
Located to the east of the city, in the Samarkand region, the village of Konigil. Despite the fact that the ethnographic park is not included in the classic excursion program in Samarkand, we will be happy to take our tourists to discover a new attraction of the country.

Independent travelers are advised to negotiate with drivers for a round-trip trip, since on weekdays, due to the small number of visitors, even with the help of the ubiquitous Yandex Taxi, it can be problematic to leave.

It is better to set aside time for visiting either in the morning or closer to the evening, so that the hot Uzbek sun does not interfere with a leisurely inspection. Hundreds of new seedlings have been planted on the territory, but so far they are not able to provide sufficient shade to cool the stone with which the craft complex itself is laid out, and they will not provide shelter in the embankment area.
